Here’s how it works:
Picking up your phone has become a reflex. One tap and you’re in, without thinking. That micro-habit chips away at focus, mood, and presence.
At Roots, we design tools to interrupt that autopilot—to help you re-center before diving back in.
Here’s how it works:
- You block an app like Instagram or TikTok.
- When you try to open it, a short meditation appears.
- You close your eyes, breathe, and follow a guided practice.
- Once you finish, you can unblock the app (if you still want to).
That moment of mindfulness often shifts the trajectory. Sometimes you’ll continue. Other times, you’ll realize you don’t need to open the app at all.

Why we built this
Even a minute of meditation is proven to reduce stress, reset your nervous system, and restore awareness. Instead of fueling the dopamine loop, you pause and notice what’s really happening.
